Hey all my friends.
I guess it’s because my grandfather, father and brother used to show Jersey cows, and my other grandfather was a cattle trader, that I just have “the love of cows” in my blood.
I have some great old black and white snap shots of my father and grandfather with their show cows that I am going to try and enlarge to use. I also have lots of their ribbons and even a few silver trophy bowls that they won. Such awesome memorabilia.
I have recently been on a cow hunt. Now, I don’t want just any old cow. I want it to have the right look. You know what I mean….right?
Let me show you a couple that I have recently brought home.
See him sitting way down there on my white bench.
Here he is a little closer up…
My friend, Kim, made me this pillow. Remember her etsy shop giveaway I did a couple of weeks ago. Check out her shop again here.
I also just purchased this great little 8 x10 canvas from Fine Farmhouse and I love it.
I love how subtle this canvas is. Dru did a great job making her look old.
This old wooden screen holds my kitchen essentials. I love to corral things together like this.
Our chickens are laying us lots and lots of eggs right now. We are getting a dozen plus everyday. Thank you my pretty hens…
Now you know I cannot talk about cows and leave out my all time favorite bovine.
Yes, Herley is still my number 1 cow of all times.
I don’t think Herley will ever be replaced. He will always be my favorite and he will always hold a place of honor and distinction in my home.
So now I have three cows. There is one in the kitchen, one in the dining room, and one in the living room. I don’t want to be a collector of cows so I will probably stop soon. A few will do me just fine.
Of course the above comment doesn’t mean that I am going to stop my hunt.
Hope you are having a great week and that the rest of it is blessed beyond measure.
Thanks, as always, for taking your time to visit with me. I know your time is precious.

Amy~ You are the coolest decorating chick on the block! Or, would you be offended if I said coolest heifer? ;o)
Because I love what you did here.
You have such a beautiful and well crafted talent.
When I was in the city.
We went to these cool vintage markets, way down in the industrial part of town, in these old warehouses. And seriously...I thought of you. Over and over and over! You would have felt for sure...swooney!
In fact, I have a couple of pictures on my phone that I am going to send you.
But here is one thing that I must know.
How did you become so good at piecing your treasures together?
I am accumulating a fair amount of said treasures...but am so not able to venue it out like you do.
Maybe I can just shamelessly copy you!
Happy weekend, sugar pie!

Love the decor...and the steer! And the Cow!
I love all your cows! We don't own any live cows, but there are some down the gravel road from us and I enjoy listening to them in the evening, when they always seems to make a little noise settling in for the night. Your Herley is definitely a handsome fellow!
Blessings,
Angie

Very fun cows! They have been catching my eye lately - I bought a cast iron painted vintage cow from a resale shop, and a painting which I hope looks good when I get it!
Love cows too! The gentle colouring and your fantastic decorating skillis!!! :)
Hugs,
That canvas cow print sure is great! I always love things like that with texture and interesting details. I feel the same as you though, Herley is my favorite :)
I see great things again today Amy......love the cows...love your decorating style....enjoy your day...love Ria...xxx...
Love that your chickens are laying like crazy. Our sweet girls are taking a little break right now as they worked so hard all summer. And two of them are molting and aren't too pretty. LOL. I just collected up their fallen feathers and have made something beautiful from then. Love the cows you have brought into your home. There used to be cows up the lane from us but the land was sold and now a home sits there. A pretty home but it's not the same as those gorgeous cows that I loved to stop and chat with it. :) Happy Thursday
Amy, cows just speak to my heart too. They seem to be such gentle animals. Love Herley! Take Care, Jean

Your cows are adorable! With placing them stragetically around your home, it appears you are "steer"ing in the right decor direction! (Sorry...just couldn't help myself, dear friend!)
